Project Description:
In the strategic planning and execution of an innovative approach to advanced illness care education, I was tasked with creating a two-day immersive course for nurse care advisors. The focus was on enabling our nursing staff to provide comprehensive end-of-life care for patients, and it was vital that they could not only grasp but also apply the concepts taught.
Identifying the potential for digital transformation, I crafted the unique, interactive concept of 'Story Sync'. This tool was integrated into the learning journey by being deployed on tablets provided in the classroom. Working in tandem with the course material, Story Sync offered a virtual, role-specific scenario designed to complement and reinforce classroom learning.
The immersive nature of Story Sync allows learners to practically apply their learning throughout the training. Upon commencing the class, participants were introduced to a virtual patient whose care they managed in real-time using Story Sync. This innovative approach to learning ensured ongoing engagement and offered a dynamic platform to test and validate their understanding of key concepts.
This strategy for experiential learning, facilitated through digital transformation, offers significant potential for targeted learning experiences based on specific roles or other workplace demographics. This innovative approach emphasizes the importance of strategic planning and digital integration in modern education programs to enhance learning outcomes.
